Benchmark Robusta Climbs to Record, Arabica at Highest Since 2022
Coffee futures saw a surge in June, with the benchmark robusta variety hitting a record high. Additionally, prices for arabica, the higher-quality coffee bean, reached their highest levels since 2022. Arabica coffee futures in New York experienced their largest jump since late May ahead of the July futures expiration, resulting in a rare premium.
Significant Increase Since 2024
Since the beginning of 2024, coffee has gained 4641 USdLbs or 24.65%, as indicated by a contract for difference (CFD) that tracks the market. This surge is a testament to the strong demand and limited supply that have characterized the coffee industry in recent times.
